All hands to the deck, and a load of machinery, still don't make light work (no pun intended) of removing the old lights, and installing the new ones. Folks falling in the pond doesn't help, either, obviously! Still, a fabulous day - and the lights look wonderful.
Taking down the lights is, apparently, less than half the work! Who knew!? Putting up 100m of LED lighting on a tree, which, whilst not ridiculously high, is still high enough when one has to loop cables over the top, around branches, through the tree and so on... So, Jones' Engineering to the rescue with a ridiculously-crazy contraption created just for the job... to get a piece of rope over the top. Job done (well, eventually!)
Only one of us fell in (naming no names - oh, go on then, Tracey!) although, to her credit (or because she's mad) she carried on throughout the day; no doubt freezing! Such is the dedication of this bunch of nutters, whose sole aim (well, apart from because it's good fun) is to brighten the village up and see in the festive season with a smile.
So, the 2022 lights are now in place;
Next up - Pond Lights night!
