“Westwoodside Pond Lights” are a group of like-minded locals who annually organise a light-up ceremony of Christmas/ festive lights around the Westwoodside Village Pond; a get-together which attracts several hundred of the local community and involves local schools/ British Lions/ Bands & Musical groups, and businesses. The aim is simply to promote a sense of community spirit and obviously kick-start celebrations for the forthcoming festive period.
To assist with funding the annual switch on, we organise several other community events such as Easter Egg hunts (which attract several hundred local children and simply involves local families traipsing around the local area/ village on the hunt for set-clues – all good family fun, concluding with the children ending up back at the starting point and picking up an Easter Egg for their efforts – a Cadbury’s one, no less!), Dinner Dances, Family Race Nights, Scarecrow hunts and more.
