Westwoodside is a small rural village located in the Isle of Axholme, North Lincolnshire, with amenities including a village pub, beauty salon, and hairdressers, barbers, Chinese and Indian restaurants, village stores, dentists, garages. The area is surrounded by glorious farmland and countryside, including the wonderfully scenic quarry lakes and turbary.
The surrounding farmland is primarily arable (potatoes, beetroot, wheat, maize, fruits, etc) alongside cattle and sheep farms.
There is a very good village primary school which feeds into the upper school in Epworth (South Axholme Academy) amongst others.
Westwoodside has been a key part of the ancient tradition/ annual-competition called the Haxey Hood for several hundred years.
